First Came Love, Then Came Marriage

Then came Abby in the baby carriage! (Ok, not a baby carriage...)

Abigail Katherine was born on December 17, 2008 weighing in at 9lbs 3 oz, and 21 inches. She lost some weight during our stay, and was up to 8lb 8 oz by the time we came home. Both mom and baby came through just fine!

Thank goodness they allowed us to discharge from the hospital early! We left on 12/20, smack in the middle of a three-day snowstorm. We were getting cabin fever, and were tired of hospital food, and no one was going to come visit us in a snowstorm (except Kelly T, of course...thank goodness she came and broke up that day!)! We knew the roads would be bad, but not having been outside for a few days, we didn't realize how bad they were...but really wanted to get home to our own beds. Besides, you can't just change your mind and go back after you've been discharged! The car ride seemed to take us forever. It's funny how many MORE crazy people you notice on the road with a newborn in the car than without, especially in the middle of a snowstorm five days before Christmas! We got home and had some dinner (yay for surprise baked ziti and salad in the fridge! Thanks Denise!) and went straight to bed. I think we all slept well that night. It was much easier sleeping at home.
